AUTO INJURY CHIROPRACTOR
Chiropractic Care is probably the most famous and effective treatment for those who are recovering from injuries sustained in a car accident.
Due to the rapid motion caused by your head going forward, back, and then forward again due to your seat belt restraining you, it is common to experience whiplash or other strains or sprains to your neck and back. There is no better treatment for injuries involving your musculoskeletal system or soft tissues.
Chiropractic care following a car accident may include ice packs, massage, stretches, and exercise in addition to an adjustment. It all depends on the severity of your injuries and how you, the patient are feeling. We want you to feel better and get back on your feet as quickly as possible.
At Farmington Road Chiropractic, we are committed to helping our clients resume their pursuit of health, well-being, and a pain-free lifestyle. Contact us today to schedule an appointment.
What Can You Expect from Car Accident Treatments?
Once it has been confirmed that your injuries are limited to soft tissue and/or misalignment from your accident, you will go through some very gentle treatments first before a full adjustment is attempted. Your treatment might ultimately include massage and even physical therapy to recover.
If your chiropractor does not feel that you are progressing as you should, they will not hesitate to refer you to a specialist, such as a neurologist or an orthopedist, to help you heal from your injuries.

Frequently Asked Questions

Absolutely not. We recommend that following your accident that you go to the ER or your doctor’s office to get checked out. It is a good idea to have x-rays and an examination to make sure that your injuries are not more serious. Always go to your doctor first to rule out fractures, internal bleeding or any other serious injuries before you consult your chiropractor.

For the first few days following your car accident, you are going to be quite sore. You might not even feel much discomfort the first day. While ultimately the adjustments will feel good, those first days while you are still in the early stages of your injury might be uncomfortable.
-
Not always. Sometimes it is necessary to get the inflammation and swelling down before your chiropractor will attempt an adjustment. Each case is different. Sometimes a gentle examination and ice packs are all that should be done until the swelling goes down a little bit.
The purpose of chiropractic treatment is to balance your system and make you feel better. It is not supposed to cause pain.
